Rise and Design: Innovations in Health (York)

Friday 25 January 2019 - 09:00 – 12:00

York, Venue TBC

We are seeing some incredible advances in healthcare, from robotic surgeons to apps that can monitor our every step.

And many of these advances have originated here in Yorkshire.

So we’ve brought together some companies who are exploring and developing inovative healthcare products, to give us an insight into how they came about, and the journey from idea to finished product.

Speakers include:

Lee Taylor, LDT Design (www.ldtdesign.co.uk)

Based in York, Lee has created products as diverse as home security products, thermal imaging cameras and folding beds. Lee will talk about a recent project to develop a light emitting sleep mask that helps prevent blindness in people with diabetes.

Richard Hall, pd-m International (www.pd-m.com)

Founded in 2005 Pd-m is a highly experience innovation, product design, prototyping and manufacturing business. They work with start-ups to PLC's, and have developed a number of medical products in partnership with Leeds University. Richard will describe some recent projects, and the key element that made them successful.
