Yorkshire is world famous for it’s food and drink, from York’s sweets and confectionery, to Wensleydale cheese, while not forgetting the good old Yorkshire pudding. We have brought together some iconic Yorkshire food producers to share with you their passion for their products, the creativity behind their brands, and perhaps some of the magic that makes them so good.
Louise Needham, Quorn
The food choices we make have the potential to not only mitigate against climate change but also promote positive environmental and health outcomes. With wide agreement now that it is no longer possible nor necessary to separate health and environmental sustainability from discussions about current and future dietary choices, this is an exciting opportunity to promote a ‘less but better’ approach to meat consumption. Louise will provide an overview of the sustainability research and agenda going forward.
Sophie Jewett, York Cocoa House
Chocolate has been made in York since 1646, and we’re all familiar with the famous names that have come and gone since then. Having run the York Cocoa House since 2011, Sophie is set to bring chocolate making back to the centre of York with the York Cocoa Works. Sophie will describe this journey and her passion for chocolate making.
