One of the key aims of Design Network North is to showcase the best design talent in the North East. Whether it is a service, finished product design or component, we would like to compile a portfolio of work carried out by the region's companies and design suppliers.
New product design and development can often be a key area for any business and hopefully this portfolio will inspire upcoming product designers to get involved in the design industry.
To join the network and add some examples of your work to our design showcase by downloading the form and returning it to enquiries@designnetworknorth.org.

The Trango Extrem was designed for the British K2 expedition in 1986. The inspiration for the name came from the impressive Trango Towers which the expedition passed whilst walking up to the Baltoro Glacier.
Constructed from a 3-layer GORE-TEX® Ultra TZ fabric, the Trango provides waterproof, windproof and breathable protection with maximum durability and physical protection.
The outstanding Trango Jacket, became the flagship product for Berghaus which, in one form or another, stayed in the range for over 12 years. It was soon put through its paces by Berghaus activists across the globe and became an almost instant 'classic'.
The ‘Heritage’ collection re-introduces the Trango and Tornado, two iconic jackets from the 1980s. Ready for the Autumn / Winter 09 season the range will be stocked in Berghaus stores, Selfridges, and other independents across the UK.
“Being seen wearing a Berghaus jacket in a city street, identifies you with a lifestyle that you want to be part of. You might be standing waiting for a train, but by wearing one of our jackets you are saying to others on the platform, I would rather be anywhere than waiting for a train going into the city.”
Ross McPhie, Design Manager Berghaus
