3D Printing & Reverse Engineering Event Is A Success
GoPrint3D hosted a 3D printing event in their new showroom for an (almost) full day of 3D printing, scanning, reverse engineering and CAD.
The day was opened by GoPrint3D’s Sales Director, James Blackburn, who welcomed the delegates to Ripon and set the stage for the day before passing it over to John Minto to introduce his company, Mintronics, and first speaker, David Jupp.
David’s session focused on CAD design for 3D printing using Alibre. David designed a test tray and a multi-holder for a CNC machine. David’s design was then passed to the next speakers, Kevin Askew and Darren Ayres from GoPrint3D who proceeded to slice, load and 3D print David’s designs using the Zortrax M200.
After lunch Robert Footitt demonstrated 3D scanning and reverse engineering. His designs were then 3D printed by Kevin and Darren once again, this time using the Form 2 and the Mark Two, incorporating demos of Preform and Eiger respectively.
All in all it was a great, free, event for all involved, and will be the first of many events hosted at GoPrint3D’s new showroom. If you would like to attend one of GoPrint3D’s future events, you can follow them on Twitter or Facebook, @GoPrint3D, or signup to their newsletter at www.goprint3d.co.uk
