Copyright law changes from 28th January – is your business prepared?

Find out about the latest copyright law changes using this helpful guide. Up until now anyone could replicate artistic work provided it was at least 25 years old and had been reproduced more than 50 times. A replica photograph, sculpture or piece of furniture in these circumstances was fair game according to section 52 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. But now section 52 is being repealed, everything is about to change.

From 28th January all ‘industrially manufactured artistic works’ will be protected for the life of their creator, plus 70 years.

How does that affect you? Members of Design Network North- Muckle LLP have put together a handy guide
