Great British Design - Hong Kong 2019
Inspired by the GREAT Festival of Innovation held in Hong Kong in March 2018, ‘Great British Design’ is a year long campaign showcasing the UK’s exceptional talents and expertise in design, aiming to increase creative collaboration between the UK and Hong Kong.
The pinnacle of the campaign is UK as partner country for Asia’s premier design event, Business of Design Week (BODW) 2019. Sir John Sorrell CBE will lead the largest ever delegation of British designers to visit Hong Kong and the wider Greater Bay Area. Throughout the year-long campaign, a top-calibre programme of citywide events, discussions and interactive experiences will investigate how design and design thinking will affect how we work, live, play and learn in the future.

About Business of Design Week
Business of Design Week (BODW) is the pinnacle of the Great British Design campaign. Over 120,000 participants from around 80 countries will attend the event, which consists of four components:
- Summit: 70-80 speakers, around 30% of whom will be from the UK;
- Exhibition: A 800-1,000sqm pavilion at DesignInspire to showcase and promote UK industries and brands;
- Education: International collaboration opportunities between local institutions such as Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Design Institute; and
- deTour: A pop-up exhibition space at PMQ to promote young designers
